Community members provide support to their fellow members and their families coping with illness. Support can include assistance ranging from household activities and childcare matters, to preparing meals, to visits both in and out of the hospital.
Volunteers also visit the elderly and homebound of our community who are cheered by regular visitors. Spending time with an elderly person can help them feel more positive emotionally and less isolated by illness, physical limitations, and age.
Regular visits also give every visitor the chance to be part of the mitzvah of bikur holim, and help ease the burden of family members and caregivers.
